About Us

The Coronado Police Officers Association is a professional labor organization that represents our members by protecting their rights, benefits, interests, and safety. We represent over 50 City of Coronado employees from six different job classifications. The majority of our members are police officers. Our association is governed by a five member elected Board of Directors.

Serving The Community

The goal of the Coronado Police Officers Association is to partner with the community and provide quality police service through community partnerships, emphasizing the highest degree of professionalism and ethical behavior, and to create an atmosphere of safety and security. The Coronado Police Officers Association is active in our community and many of our members volunteer in Coronado and throughout San Diego County.

History of the Coronado POA

The Coronado Police Officers Association was founded in 1982 by the dedicated men and women of the Coronado Police Department. Our members proudly serve the City of Coronado and its residents. The Coronado Police Officers Association represents the rank and file sergeants, corporals, officers, and dispatchers of our department.

The Coronado Police Officers Association is committed to providing charitable contributions and support to those in our community who need our help the most. Our association participates in the Rady’s Children’s Hospital Teddy Bear Drive, Special Olympics: Law Enforcement Torch Run, and Shop with a Cop programs. Whether through outreach programs like this, or simply volunteering their scarce free time, the POA and its members are dedicated to improving our community.
